As onions are sliced, they release a class of
enzymes, allinases, which break down amino acid sulfoxides. A specific compound produced during this process is 1-propenesulfenic acid, which is rearranged by another enzyme, called lachrymatory factor synthase, to produce syn-propanethial-S-oxide. Production of this gas peaks 30 seconds after mechanical damage to the onion, and it stimulates sensory neurons in the eye causing a stinging sensation; the eye therefore produces tears to flush it out.

Thiosulfinates are the primary flavour and odour producing molecules in an onion. These compounds are not present in intact bulbs, but are formed via enzymatic reaction from sulfur amino acids. (Natural News) Scientists continue to genetically engineer plants that are becoming less and less like anything that nature ever intended, and in the process, many of them are overlooking some very useful natural alternatives.

One such solution was recently discovered by researchers at Japan’s RIKEN Center for Sustainable Resource Science (CSRS). After studying a new biological pathway that is activated in plants during droughts, they found that they could give plants a higher tolerance for drought simply by growing them in vinegar.

The study, which is published in Nature Plants, was led by Jong-Myong Kim and Motoaki Seki. The researchers looked into the mutation in the plant enzyme HDA6 to determine the mechanisms behind its protective effect on plants in drought conditions.

They found that the biological pathway that is activated in these plants produces acetate, which also happens to be the main component of vinegar. They discovered that the HDA6 enzyme essentially functions like a switch controlling which metabolic pathway is active. While the plants use sugar for energy under normal circumstances, they switch to the pathway that produces acetate during droughts.

They also found a direct correlation between the acetate levels the plants produced in drought conditions and their survival rate. This led them to reason that a plant that has high amounts of acetate would be better equipped to withstand a drought.

They then tested this hypothesis by treating some Arabidopsis plants with acetic acid and others with water or other organic acids and growing them in drought conditions to compare the results. The plant is a close relative of cabbage, kale, and cauliflower and is often used in experiments because of how readily it displays changes.

After two weeks, 70 percent of the plants that were treated with the acetic acid survived; nearly all of the other plants had died. The other acids that were used unsuccessfully included hydrochloric acid, butyric acid, formic acid, citric acid and lactic acid.

Other plants showed similar results when grown in vinegar

After mapping the signaling pathway of the HDA6 switch, the researchers discovered that it is conserved in many other plant species as well. The same experiment showed increased drought tolerance in maize, wheat and rice when they were grown using acetic acid. They found that the optimum concentration was 40 parts of water to one part of vinegar.

This simple technique eliminates the need for transgenic technologies, which means it is not only safer but also much easier to apply around the world. Kim said: “We expect that external application of acetate to plants will be a useful, simple, and less expensive way to enhance drought tolerance in a variety of plants.”

Further research is expected into the consequences the vinegar could have on the plant’s overall health. For example, the acetate response was connected to the way the plants used jasmonic acid, which they produce to defend themselves against fungus and insects. Additional studies will likely explore this link further to ensure there are no ill effects.

A promising solution

Should this turn out to be as promising as it appears, farmers could have a very valuable ally in vinegar when it comes to protecting crops from drought. It is an inexpensive and safe solution, and it is hoped that larger-scale studies with other plants will yield similar results.

Vinegar can also be used as a natural and eco-friendly way to kill weeds. It must be applied only to the weeds that are being targeted, and it should be done on a sunny day as sunlight activates the vinegar. While all types will get the job done, white vinegar is the most popular choice because it is the most inexpensive.

Given its ability to help plants survive drought in low concentrations and to kill weeds in higher concentrations, vinegar could well prove to be an indispensable item for every gardener and farmer to keep on hand.

in moderation it is a major cause of
heart disease, obesity, cancer,
dementia, liver failure, tooth decay,
and more.

So what does the FDA do about this silent
killer? It allows food producers to change
the name of the infamous sweeter in
order to trick consumers into thinking
they are not eating high fructose corn
syrup.

That’s right, high fructose corn syrup now
goes by a new, deceitful name – “Natural
Sweetener
” – designed to trick customers
into making ill-informed choices that will
impact on their health.

Consumers are finally catching on to the
fact that what we put in our mouths
effects our waistline as well as our health.

Since consumers have become much
smarter and finally waking up to these
realities, they are demanding healthier
food choices. Every food company is
smearing 100% natural on every box of
anything regardless of whats inside the box.

Now we have to know the new sneaky
name to know whether or not we are
consuming High Fructose Corn Syrup or
not. Obviously the best way to avoid this
mess is to buy from companies you really
trust.

Big food companies are hiding ingredients
they know we really don’t want to
consume in their products. This time it’s
the presence of a new version of high
fructose corn syrup. But this is not the
innocuous fructose that has sweetened
the fruits humans have eaten since time
began. This is a questionable ingredient
with many names that could be causing
all sorts of health problems.

Example:

The product is General Mills’ Vanilla Chex,
an updated version of the Chex cereal
sold in most conventional grocery and discount stores for many years. The front
of the box clearly states that the product
contains “no high fructose corn syrup”
(HFCS), but turn it over to read the
ingredient list and there it is – the new
isolated fructose.

Why is that a problem? According to the
Corn Refiners Association (CRA), there’s
been a sneaky name change. The term
fructose’ is now being used to denote a
product that was previously known as
HFCS-90, meaning it is 90 percent pure
fructose. Compare this to what is termed
regular’ HFCS, which contains either 42 or
55 percent fructose, and you will know
why General Mills is so eager to keep you
in the dark.

CRA explains:

A third product, HFCS-90, is sometimes used
in natural and ‘light’ foods, where very little
is needed to provide sweetness. Syrups with 90% fructose will not state high fructose

corn syrup on the label [anymore], they will
state ‘fructose’ or ‘fructose syrup’.

And the way that they get away with this
is fairly simple:

Simply eliminating the high fructose corn
syrup designation for the laboratory
sweetener that’s nine-tenths fructose and
calling it what it really is: fructose. And that’s
how a processed-food product like Vanilla
Chex that contains “fructose”, a substance

that, according to the corn refiners, used to
be called HFCS-90, can now declare itself to
be high fructose corn syrup-free.

Stress, sure it is a big factor but how about the process of these manufacturers? Have you ever researched what happens in the fields? What happens at the processing plants? How healthy is the packaging?  If it says FDA approved means bribed approval. The FDA isn’t part of our Republic, it is a private Corporation most likely owned by the Rothschilds or the Vatican.

When it comes to food matters, I personally stick to being a farmer. We grow and can our own food. It is rich in vitamins and minerals, and we use all natural bug and pest repellants.
We deport the coons and possums, because we dont want to harm life of any kind. Have guinea to eat the beetles and cats to keep small rodents away, such as rabbit’s.

The homemade bug deterrent works great until it rains, then we spray again. I supplied the recipe in am earlier Article.

Companion planting works well. There are many flowers and herbs that can be planted in your garden to help repel tiny thieves.

I don’t purchase packaged products mostly. On rare occasions I might. Then I do a serious detox and make sure I take anti cancer precautions. Because there are many.

Even having a bad day,  I try to find the lesson or humor. I think to myself, “Will I laugh at this situation later?” If the answer is yes, then I will go ahead and laugh.

I can only suggest that you read and research everything, to protect yourself and those you love.

Just know something is very wrong with our produce and manufactured foods that most Countries in this World will not trade or allow American produce or goods into their Country.

Start a community Garden. It is fun and very healthy too. There may be one in your area.

Get produce from local farmers who don’t use pesticides.

Can your goods for winter. It is healthier and really doesn’t take that much time. Make it a family project.

These deceitful manufacturers have become quite clever at causing you great difficulty reading their ingredient list. I had my loop in my pocketbook and was very thankful. If the list is too tiny to read, leave it at the store. There is a reason for the obscure lists. They must be hoping you will just give up and plop it into your cart.

1. Raw Egg

You can also use crushed eggshells which work just as good as whole egg.

Eggshell has calcium, nitrogen and phosphoric acid which make them an ideal choice for garden use.

So next time you boil or fry an egg don’t throw away the egg shell but instead Recycle them to grow seedlings. When the seedling is ready to be planted outside, place the shell and seedling directly in the ground. The eggshell will decompose over time and help fertilize the soil.

2. Banana Skins
Bananas contain a number of nutrients including potassium, phosphate, sulfur, calcium, magnesium and sodium. All of these things can help promote healthy growing for plants. best way to effectively use banana peels is to cut them up into small pieces so that they can decompose faster. 3. Ash
If you have a fireplace, you’ll love this free method for raising pH levels. You simply scatter the ash around the soil as a way to lower acidic levels. This will make it easier to grow a fresh crop.

4. Leaves
Allowing leaves to rot over a garden during winter will provide nutrients for the soil to prepare it for the next growing season. The leaves work to pull the organic matter back down into the soil making it dark and rich.

5. Epsom Salt
Epsom salts are especially good for soil. Low pH levels are usually an indication of a magnesium imbalance. To boost pH levels in the soil, dilute Epsom salt with water and spray on the plants. The vegetation will soak up the welcomed nutrients.

6.Use Compost Regularly
While using bits and pieces of natural matter can be helpful, combining many pieces of compost will only go one step further toward enriching your soil.

One year after Mexican President Peña Nieto began speaking out and criticizing the global drug policy, Mexico has now legalized marijuana for medicinal purposes.

As a growing number of individual states in the U.S. stand up to the federal government on marijuana prohibition, Mexico legalized medical marijuana nationwide on Monday.

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto issued a decree, following the bill’s overwhelming approval from Mexico’s Senate in December, with a vote of 98-7, and from Mexico’s Lower House of Congress in April, with a vote of 374-7 vote.

“The ruling eliminates the prohibition and criminalization of acts related to the medicinal use of marijuana and its scientific research, and those relating to the production and distribution of the plant for these purposes.”

The decree stated that the nation’s Ministry of Health would be in charge of “public policies regulating the medicinal use of pharmacological derivatives of cannabis sativa, indica and Americana or marijuana, including tetrahydrocannabinol, its isomers and stereochemical variants, as well as how to regulate the research and national production of them.”

The measure was also applauded by Mexico’s Secretary of Health, Dr. José Narro Robles. “I welcome the approval of the therapeutic use of cannabis in Mexico,” he wrote on Twitter.

While Peña Nieto was once a staunch opponent of marijuana legalization, he appears to have changed his tune, following a nationwide public debateon legalization in early 2016. He is now encouraging the U.S. to follow Mexico’s lead.

During a speech at the 2016 United Nations General Assembly Special Sessions, Peña Nieto called for a change in global drug policy, and said he believes drug use should be viewed as a “public health problem,” and users should not face criminal charges.

“So far, the solutions [to control drugs and crime] implemented by the international community have been frankly insufficient,” Peña Nieto said. “We must move beyond prohibition to effective prevention.”

Peña Nieto introduced a measure in April 2016 that would have decriminalized the possession of up to one ounce of cannabis. It would have also freed anyone who was on trial, or serving time for possession of up to one ounce of marijuana. The bill was stalled in Congress.
